1. Service Overview
PonPick provides a service for scanning, exploring, and reviewing products sold in Japanese convenience stores. The service includes product search, rating, review, and personalized browsing features.
2. User-Generated Content (UGC)
Users retain copyright ownership of photos, reviews, and any other content they upload to the service.
By uploading content, users grant PonPick a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to store, host, display, and modify such content as necessary for:
- Service operation and functionality
- Product search, recommendation, and categorization
- Selection and display of product representative images (thumbnails)
- Service promotion (App Store screenshots, official website, official social channels)
Use of user content for third-party product advertisements, sponsorships, or commercial promotions requires separate user consent.
PonPick may resize, compress, or generate thumbnails from uploaded images. Personally identifying information will not be published without explicit consent.
3. Account Deletion and Data Handling
- Users may request account deletion at any time.
- Upon deletion, personal identifiers (email, nickname, profile) and personal scan history are permanently deleted.
- Reviews and ratings may be retained in anonymized form to preserve service reliability.
- Representative product images selected from user scans may be removed upon request and will be processed within 7 days.
4. Restrictions
Users may not engage in the following:
- Unauthorized collection or disclosure of others’ personal information
- Infringement of intellectual property rights
- Uploading unlawful, harmful, misleading, or offensive content
- Using automated scripts, bots, crawlers, or similar methods to access or extract data
- Reverse engineering or attempting to interfere with service operations
5. Third-Party Services and Data Sources
PonPick may use third-party services, including but not limited to:
- Google Firebase (authentication, database, analytics)
- Google ML Kit or Cloud Vision (OCR)
- Naver Papago (translation)
- Apple/Google Sign-in (authentication)
Some product information may reference publicly accessible sources or user-provided content compiled and edited by PonPick. Data does not include personal information.
6. OCR and Translation Disclaimer
OCR and translation results are for reference only and may not be fully accurate. Users must verify critical product details, including allergens, expiration dates, and warnings from the physical product label. PonPick is not responsible for damages caused by OCR or translation errors except where required by law.
7. Limitation of Liability
PonPick is not liable for service disruptions caused by system failures, external provider issues, network problems, or other circumstances beyond reasonable control. This limitation does not apply in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence.
8. Changes to Terms
Terms may be updated as required. Material changes will be announced at least 7 days in advance (30 days for changes unfavorable to users). Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Any disputes shall be resolved through the competent court under Korean civil procedure law.
